I bought this mattress as an alternative to the traditional spring mattress, which are very expensive. I'm a college student and i needed a cheap bed for my room. I decided to get it with a wooden platform bed, which only cost me $100. This memory foam mattress came in about a week after ordering, before the estimated arrival date and right on time for me to move in. It was packaged nicely and folded up in a cylindrical cardboard box (it wasn't very heavy to lift), and all i had to do was unfold it onto my platform bed. The mattress was clean and very firm, although it's more like 5.5'' in depth instead of 6'', but it's no big deal. I'm not sure why the seller doesn't post a picture of the bed, but i assure you it is a clean twin size bed that is incredibly soft but firm. I have been sleeping on it for 3 months now and it still feels like new. I stopped getting back pains after sleeping on this bed, which is something that often happened when i slept on metal spring mattresses. This is a great bed for a great buy!

This is a great foam mattress for kid or teen. Around six inches thick and feels like my much thicker Queen foam mattress to someone who is not a full size adult.
We used it on a mates bed and laid it flat on top of a wood frame. My daughter says it's quite comfortable. For the money, a great buy.

DaVinci Emily II 2-in-1 6" 242 Coil Mattress
I bought this mattress as a replacement of an older 2-in-1 mattress that my toddler used from birth (a Sealy from Babies R Us). When it came time to purchase a new one, the Sealys were all sold out on Amazon, so I picked out this model as a "next-best" without remembering exactly how much I spent on the previous one. The price seemed a little steep, but once I saw how much comparable models go for in stores, I felt a little better.
It isn't as heavy as the previous mattress, and is actually a bit softer in the springs. I am not sure what the coil count is for the other mattress. I couldn't really detect any major difference in "bounce" from the infant to toddler side for either mattress.
One thing I wish I'd looked into is whether it had a handle on the sides, which makes it easier for lifting in and out of the crib when you're changing the sheet. This particular model does not, but it is still fairly easy to manage.
So I guess I'd say this mattress is okay for quality, but you're probably just as well off buying a single sided mattress from the store and save your money. There's rarely a huge difference on any of the 2-sided mattresses, and your toddler isn't likely to notice anyway.

We were concerned about getting a mattress that would fit our crib just right, but this mattress fits our DaVinci Emily crib perfectly. It seems firm and we look forward to using it with our child.

I, like so many others, was worried about ordering a mattress without being able to try it out. I read hundreds of reviews on different shopping sites. After reading the reviews about this mattress, I decided to take the plunge and order it. The mattress was delivered in a timely manner. I "rolled" it down the hall and lifted it onto my foundation by myself ( I am a middle-aged, healthy female) and it wasn't that hard. I opened the outer sack as directed. The mattress started expanding as soon as I cut the shrink wrap. Some reviews stated it took a few hours for the mattress to completey expand. The mattress was a full 12" within 20 minutes. My husband works crazy hours, so he had to go to bed at 7:00 that evening. The mattress was fully expanded and ready for him even though I had just opened it around 5:00 pm. We LOVE this mattress. There is no smell. There is no movement when either of us get in or out of bed. I HIGHLY recommend this mattress. There are no aches and pains in the morning. Both of us sleep very well and wake refreshed and ready to face our day. GREAT BUY

We purchased this crib mattress to replace an older one. It hasn't been used yet (still waiting for baby to arrive), but I'm very impressed. There was no awful plastic smell when we opened the packaging, the newborn and toddler sides are clearly labeled, and the mattress corners are square so there's no gap between the mattress and crib. Mattress seems very durable and of high quality.

As of 1/21/12, we've been using this mattress about 6 months and love it. Mattress is very durable so far and has shown no signs of wear. The infant side is firm enough but not too firm that it appears uncomfortable for baby to sleep on. It is larger than our old crib mattress so we did have to buy some new sheets for it: American Baby Company Jersey Knit Crib Sheet, White fit perfectly and are very soft.

I am one of those moms that love everything healthy and organic for their baby and my friends have gone as far as to say I was obsessed with my baby only having the best. When I accidentally bumped into this crib mattress online, I was one happy mother! Organic, 2 in one and fairly priced! Surely this was too much to be true?
Imagine my surprise when it actually arrived in the mail and seemed to be everything it promised and more. The organic made me feel at ease as it was only the very best for my spoiled baby and the 2 in one toddler and baby sides meant that it would last the length that I needed it to!
There was one thing that I was slightly disappointed with and that is the firmness of the mattress itself on the baby side - I felt that it is not firm enough, especially for a newborn. So I decided to also give the Sealy Soybean Foam-Core Crib Mattress a try.
After trying out and swapping each mattress many times, I decided to keep the Soybean Foam Mattress, because it is firmer and lighter.
To explain firmer, first the baby sleeps deeply and fine on both mattresses, but on the firmer soy foam mattress, the baby would sleep with the face turned right or left, but on the organic cotton spring, the baby would sleep with face up making the back of the head flat, and during tummy time, the baby likes the firmer mattress because it is easier for her to push up and not sunken in.
As for lighter, I believe the soy foam is probably 10 times lighter then the cotton spring mattress. I can't change the sheet of the spring mattress on my own without a helping hand. But I was able to change the sheet on my own using the soy foam mattress.
I feel both products deserve 5 star reviews for quality, craftsmanship and value, but I'm giving it a 4 because it wasn't as firm as I was expecting. I decided to keep the soy foam for the points I mentioned and will give it a 5.

This is a nice oraganic pillow for a toddler and loved that it is made in USA. Only complaint is that it went "flat" pretty quick. Haven't tried to fluff it up in the dryer yet and my daughter doesn't seem to mind that it is flat so we are happy so far.

For a long time, I wasn't sure it was worth buying junior-size pillows for my sons. Once I bit the bullet and purchased, I see they do have their advantages. Particularly good for younger children (2-year-old range). It's hard to describe, but the flatter, thinner shape and narrower width of this pillow allow my son to manipulate his way around and on top of the pillow more effectively. In other words, he actually uses it as a pillow rather than simply butting his head up against the edge as he would a standard, adult-size pillow. For an older child (4 and up), I think the advantage is chiefly that there is less pillow to have to transport (to daycare, to grandma's house, in the car, etc.). Overall, probably worth the splurge.

I purchased this twin-size memory foam mattress for my son. This is the second bed I purchased from the SleepShop - the first being my Queen-size bed. To be honest, my son's bed is more comfortable than mine! It has just the right amount of firmness and comfort. I had relatives visit for a few days, and my mother slept on this bed. She is now in California wanting the link to this bed.
I've only had this bed for about 3 months, so I cannot comment on the durability. I can comment on my Queen, which I have had for about two years. The memory foam has torn in different spots, but the blame rests primarily on us: we have moved three or four times in these two years alone (the Army is busy!), Trust me though - the tears have not affected the performance of the memory foam, and to this day, the bed still retains its shape.

My original review was written 4/20/2009 - over two years ago. Since then, I have moved twice. This bed has been more than durable - it still looks and feels like it's brand new. The firmness and memory-foam qualities are still the same. My son still loves this bed. I think it's helped a lot with giving him a good night's sleep for the past 2+ years - he hasn't woken up once complaining about being tired.
My original queen (now about 5 years old) is still in use - none of its elasticity is missing. Also, as mentioned earlier, my mom wanted the link to this bed, but we ended up getting her a full-size one last year (also from SleepShop). Having suffered from car accidents before, she often complained of constant backaches in the morning. After receiving her new bed last year, I have yet to hear of her having a sore back, or requesting a back massager as a present - coincidentally, things she talked about when she had her old box-spring mattresses.
Altogether, I've probably spent less than $1,500 on three of these memory foam mattresses (queen, full, and twin sizes). It's well worth the investment, and I'll definitely be buying another twin for my youngest son shortly.

Before I purchased this mattress, I read how memory form mattresses can have a chemical odor, especially those home delivered in vacuum packaging. How true. It's been a couple of weeks and the order is still there. Buying in the winter wasn't a good idea either because I can't open the windows. I did bring it outside four times during decent days (I don't see any bugs outside in winter) which helped a little. If it weren't for the odor I'd give this mattress a 4 star. The quality and price are good and it is comfortable. I was afraid it be too soft but it's firmer then I thought which is a plus. I hope in the spring when I open my windows I can give this a 4 star, but for now, I have to go with 3 stars.
